RE-INVENT YOURSELF – Cleannovate

At some point, I thought that my lemon verbana vine was dying off.

The leaves had withered, and it had lost its scent.

But something happened when the rains started.

I noticed a vibrancy creeping in.

Infact, it wasn’t just about the verbena vine.

I noticed other herbs and flower plants developing a greenish tinge…

Their stems started having protrusions which later developed into buds, then flowers.

Life was suddenly springing up for these plants and things were looking up for them.

I tried to draw some lessons from this sudden burst of life.

And I didn’t have to leave my bedroom.

SOAP MAKING

I’ve always been an adventurous guy.

That adventurous spirit probably led me towards making things in my backyard or bedroom.

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with soap making.

Soap making uses oils, but in my case, I’m using beef fat.

The first trials have been somewhat successful but not to the level of commercialization.

Infact, at some point, I formulated a soap that had all the qualities we look for – scent, color, texture.

However, it lacked to most important trait of all – it couldn’t foam.

Now, we all know that good soaps foam well.

So it doesn’t matter how good a bar looks or smell.

If it doesn’t produce foam, it’s not worth its salt.

To remedy the situation, I intend to blend in a bit of coconut oil while maintaining the other ingredients.

I hope the new oil balance will work.

But this entire episode sent me thinking about the things we try out unsuccessfully and end up giving up on them too fast.

REINVENT YOURSELF

Probably, you’re even bored with the way you do things or even approach your day.

Why don’t you try twitching a thing or two?

Change your wardrobe…

Get that unique haircut…

Get some glasses…

Learn a new skill…

Learn a new language…

Venture out of your comfort zone…

You see, I’ve come to learn something as a scientist.

Experiments aren’t done for success.

They are learning points we can use to pick up lessons and apply them going forward.

So don’t discard what works in your life.

But twitch what doesn’t seem to work and observe your life change.

A change is as good as a rest.

In fact, change may be that one thing that will help you defeat depression.

So do it.
