Adam Met To Speak at Columbia Climate School Graduation – State of the Planet


Columbia Climate School is thrilled to announce that Adam Met, musician, educator and climate advocate, will deliver the keynote address at the Climate School’s Class Day ceremony on Friday, May 16, 2025.

In announcing the news to the community, Columbia Climate School Dean Alexis Abramson said, “As a climate advocate, educator and member of the multi-platinum band AJR, Adam Met brings a powerful message of urgency about climate action to audiences worldwide. We’re proud to welcome Adam as our Class Day speaker, as someone who not only embodies the spirit of the Columbia community but also inspires our students to forge their own paths and create meaningful success on their own terms.”

As the “A” in the multiplatinum band AJR, Met performs worldwide for millions of fans while using his reach and expertise to advance climate action. He is also the executive director of Planet Reimagined, a professor at Columbia University, and works with Congress and the White House on innovative energy policy. Met has recently been presented with TIME Magazine’s prestigious Earth Award and was named a Changemaker by the New York Times.
