Our Training grants are open for applications!
These grants are designed to help fund traditional skills training and professional development opportunities.
Through these grants, GCHT hopes to help cultivate a skilled workforce, foster innovation in heritage projects, and contribute to the sustainable stewardship of our built environment for future generations.
Who Can Apply
Applications are open to anyone working or studying within Scotland’s built environment.
Grants are available for any amount between £100 and £750, and can be used to help fund things such as:
Traditional skills training
Educational courses
Workshops
Seminars
Research projects
Internships
Apprenticeships
Applications will be judged on the long-term impact(s) of the proposed use of the grant funds, how it contributes to the needs of the historic environment and/or addresses the shortage of traditional skills. The feasibility of the proposed project will also be taken into consideration.
Other requirements
Applicants must be over 18, however, teachers and youth leaders are welcome to apply for funding for projects that involve young people.
Successful applicants will need to submit an evaluation report (either written or interview based) that explains how the grant funding was spent, learning outcomes and how it contributed to the wider historic environment sector.
**Please note that 10% of the grant award will be retained until evaluation has been completed**
