We are delighted to share our new picture books on nature conservation for children!

At the Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT), we have long aspired to bring wildlife conservation stories and concepts to children from all walks of life in an accessible and engaging way. We believe that interpreting our field research and conservation work in a child-friendly manner, without diluting the science behind it, is the most effective way to achieve this.
WCT’s work has resulted in a rich repository of knowledge, which is highly relevant to successful wildlife conservation action in India. We have always envisioned converting some of this knowledge into illustrated books to influence children at an early stage, in the hope that some of them will become future environmental and conservation champions.
Art, words, and storytelling are powerful tools that can spark imagination and open children’s minds to important but complex topics that concern the wellbeing of the planet. Illustrated books are universally recognised as a potent tool for imparting knowledge to children in an engaging manner. The two picture books titled ‘The Pangolin Protectors’ and ‘Bumbb – The Magical Cylinder’, published in collaboration with Pratham Books, are a concrete step in this direction. They have been translated into Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, and Tamil.
WCT’s inspiring team of real-life ‘Pangolin Protectors’ and the think-tank behind the ‘Magical Bumbb’ – researchers, ecologists, economists, social scientists, psychologists, and grassroots workers – are making a significant difference on the ground. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra Forest Departments for their service and for partnering with us on the conservation projects that have come to life within the pages of these books.
You can shop for our books online through Pratham Books website store or access them digitally on StoryWeaver platform where you can read and download the books for free, and conduct reading sessions with children!
Your donations support our on-ground operations, helping us meet our conservation goals.
